The Milton Public Library (MPL) is thrilled to present “Writing Adventures with Gordon Korman,” a unique event with the acclaimed Canadian children’s author on January 30, 2025, at the First Ontario Arts Centre Milton. Known for classics like Swindle, Restart, and Schooled, Korman has penned over 90 books, captivating young readers for more than 40 years. This event will offer students a rare chance to meet one of the most impactful voices in children’s literature.
Attendees will hear Korman’s inspiring journey from writing his first book at 14 to becoming a best-selling author. Through interactive presentations, Korman will share insights on his writing process, offer guidance to aspiring young writers, and discuss the themes that shape his beloved stories.
The event includes two tailored sessions: a 10:30 a.m. presentation for grades 2-4, followed by a 12:30 p.m. session for grades 5-8. Each session will run for 45 minutes to an hour and includes an interactive Q&A segment, providing students the chance to engage directly with Korman.
Schools are encouraged to register early, as space is limited. This special event promises to inspire a new generation of readers and writers. For ticketing and registration details, visit the School Performance Registration Form on the MPL website
