This weekend, we will experience the annual "spring forward" of our clocks as Daylight Saving Time (DST) takes effect at 2:00 a.m. on Sunday, March 12th. This change will grant us an additional hour of daylight. While most internet-connected devices and cell phones will automatically update, manual adjustments may be required for other clocks.
Canada has been observing DST since 1908, but some regions do not follow this time change. Territories such as Yukon, most of Saskatchewan, select parts of Quebec, Southampton Island in Nunavut, certain areas in British Columbia, and some parts of northwestern Ontario adhere to standard time throughout the year. The elimination of DST has been proposed in Ontario, but this can only be implemented if Quebec and New York also opt for the same.
Don't forget to factor in this time change and ensure that you get enough sleep!
