Milton's Catholic School Community Expands with New Elementary School
On Thursday, October 24, a groundbreaking ceremony was held for Milton’s newest Catholic school, Milton #11 Catholic Elementary, located on Louis St. Laurent Avenue next to the recently opened St. Kateri Tekakwitha Catholic Secondary School.
The ceremony featured a site blessing by Rev. Lawrence Parent, Pastor of St. Benedict Parish, and an Honouring of the Land led by local trustee and emcee Emma Murphy.
In attendance were Halton Catholic District School Board Chair Marvin Duarte, local MPP Zee Hamid, and Billy Pang, Parliamentary Assistant to the Minister of Education.
Once completed, the three-story school will welcome 763 students and include a five-room child care center, supporting Milton’s growing Catholic school community.
