Nadeem Akbar is seeking to become the Member of Parliament for the newly established Burlington North—Milton West federal riding.
A seasoned IT consultant specializing in infrastructure, cybersecurity, and governance, Akbar is making his second run as a Conservative Party candidate.
He says his motivation to run stems from his belief that the community is worse off today than it was before the current federal government took office.
“Spending the last several months knocking on doors and speaking with people in Burlington and Milton has truly opened my eyes to the issues facing middle-class Canadians: rising mortgage and rent costs, the price of food and fuel, and increasing crime — all issues that have worsened under the current government and, most recently, the Trump administration’s tariff threats,” said Akbar.
Determined to be part of the solution, Akbar says he wants to help bring positive change to the riding.
In 2021, he ran as the Conservative candidate in the former Milton riding, securing 18,313 votes (33.1%) but finishing as the runner-up to Adam van Koeverden.
📅 Election Day is set for April 28.
