“When I saw I had won, I couldn’t stop laughing,” said the local husband and father, talking about his $285,447.40 win from the Sept. 13 OLG draw. “I told my wife, and she started crying happy tears.
“We had different reactions, but we’re so thankful.”
Thakur, a regular player for seven years, called the win a blessing and plans to use it to buy a home.
“I also want to give back to my community,” he added.
The winning ticket was bought at Petro-Canada on Ontario Street South in Milton.
