A barn in the south end of Halton Hills, near the Milton border, was completely destroyed by a fire on Wednesday evening.
Fire crews from both the Milton and Halton Hills fire departments responded to the intense blaze on Sixth Line, north of Steeles Avenue, around 7:30 p.m. Upon arrival, firefighters encountered a fully involved structure fire, with flames engulfing the barn and thick smoke rising into the night sky.
Initial reports indicated that a vehicle was inside the barn at the time of the fire, but no animals were present. Firefighters worked diligently to contain and extinguish the blaze, preventing it from spreading to nearby structures.
By late Wednesday evening, the fire had been fully extinguished, with Halton Hills Fire assuming command of the scene. Crews remained on-site to monitor for any potential flare-ups and conduct an investigation into the cause of the fire.
