Access to books and resources has expanded again for Guelph Public Library cardholders.
On Tuesday morning, a new reciprocal borrowing agreement was announced with Milton Public Library, giving patrons access to both library collections.
“The Guelph Public Library is excited to support reciprocal borrowing in this partnership with Milton Public Library,” said Dan Atkins, acting CEO of Guelph Public Library, in a news release. “This partnership allows our members to borrow materials from other libraries without extra membership fees, broadening opportunities for discovery, learning, and connection. It reflects our commitment to seamless access to information and to empowering our communities with diverse resources.”
Guelph Library already has reciprocal borrowing agreements with Cambridge Public Library, Wellington County Public Library, and Waterloo Public Library. With this Milton partnership, Guelph cardholders can now access 21 library branches outside the city.
Under the reciprocal borrowing rules, all holds and requests must be picked up from the chosen library system, and items must be returned to that system, with any outstanding fees paid there.
