A man from Quebec is in trouble after being involved in a reported vehicle theft and an attempted carjacking.
Early in the morning on Thursday, February 1st, an officer from the Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS) tried to stop a suspicious vehicle in Halton Hills, later identified as a stolen vehicle from Georgetown. Later that morning around 9:10 a.m., the same suspect tried to carjack a parked vehicle near Steeles Avenue East and James Snow Parkway in Milton. The suspect attempted to open the door and get into the occupied vehicle, but the driver managed to lock the doors, and the suspect ran away.
Police arrived, located, and arrested the suspect after a short foot chase.
Tom Fournier, an 18-year-old from Pincourt, Quebec, is facing charges including Dangerous Operation, Possession of Property Obtained by Crime, Flight from Police, and Attempted Robbery.
