Creator David Geall is gearing up for another season of his incredible Christmas lights display in Milton. This annual fundraiser features over 35,000 lights synchronized to music, creating a dazzling animated show for families to enjoy. Proceeds go to the Milton District Hospital Foundation (MDHF) to support Milton District Hospital in purchasing essential medical equipment, as federal funding only covers infrastructure.
In 2023, Geall surpassed his original $100,000 fundraising goal—a milestone in the show’s history. Reflecting on its evolution, he marvels at how much lighting technology has advanced since he started. Inspired by similar displays on TV and a friend’s setup in Georgetown, Geall has maintained his passion for the show, and he and his friend still connect daily.
This year’s display launches on Saturday, November 30th. A raffle winner will have the honor of pressing the button to kick off the first show, and guests can enjoy complimentary hot apple cider from Spring ridge Farm. Light-up bracelets and glow sticks that sync with the music will add to the festive atmosphere.
The show runs nightly from 5:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. on Sundays through Thursdays, extending to 11:00 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays, with later hours on Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, and New Year’s Eve. The final show is set for Sunday, January 5th. The display is located at 876 Willow Avenue, Milton, and the music can be enjoyed on 99.7 FM or FM 101 Milton.
A donation box will be available, along with a tap machine for card payments and an e-transfer option. Visitors are kindly asked to respect the neighboring homes by keeping noise to a minimum, being patient, and staying off lawns.
