Maple Season Kicks Off at Mounts Berg and Crawford Lake Conservation Areas in Milton

Come visit Mounts berg’s Maple Town, a 150-year-old sugarbush, to see how sap from maple trees is turned into delicious maple syrup! Or head to Crawford Lake to learn about the Indigenous history of maple sugaring. Maple Town is a favorite family tradition! For an extra special experience, visitors can Take a horse-drawn wagon ride Join a maple sugar-making workshop

Guests will also learn about the history of maple sugaring, from Indigenous traditions to modern techniques, and how Conservation Halton cares for its trees.

Plus, visit the Animal Barn and Raptor Centre Trail to meet furry and feathered friends, including two new miniature horses! Want to get up close to birds of prey? Try the Talons & Tailfeathers or Raptor Encounter experience.

Sweet Water Season at Crawford Lake

At Crawford Lake, guests can explore the Indigenous heritage of maple sugaring and visit the First Harvest: Celebrating Sweet Water exhibit. In the reconstructed 15th-century Longhouse Village, visitors will Gather by the fire for Sweet Water demonstrations Learn how maple sugaring was the first harvest of the year Enjoy guided tastings of different maple and birch syrups

“Our Maple Season programs are a hit for all ages!” says Brenna Bartley, Education Manager. “Visitors love learning about maple syrup making – but the best part is sampling the sweet treats!”
