A Milton man is facing impaired driving and drug charges after an early-morning traffic stop.

Halton police stopped the driver near Derry Road and Holly Avenue shortly before 1 a.m. last Sunday (Oct. 20).

Following their investigation, a 31-year-old Milton resident was charged with having a blood alcohol concentration of 80 mg or more within two hours of driving. He also faces charges for possession of Schedule 1 substances, specifically cocaine and oxycodone, and was cited under the Highway Traffic Act for being a novice driver with a blood alcohol concentration above zero.

These charges have not yet been tested in court.
