Milton Boy Embarks on a Journey of Discovery with His Space Quest Podcast

Curiosity can be a powerful force, especially when paired with the boundless wonder of space. Twelve-year-old Miltonian Neerav Raju knows this firsthand.

Fascinated by space ever since he built a rocket in Grade 5, Neerav has embarked on a thrilling journey of exploration into all things space and STEM. Now, he’s inviting others—fellow youth and curious minds of all ages—to join him on his voyage through SpaceQuest STEM Explorers: Curious Neerav’s Podcast.

“I saw a space video in Grade 5 about how the universe is always expanding, and I thought that was really cool,” shared Neerav, a Grade 7 student at Irma Coulson Public School. “When they started talking about planets and things, I found it really interesting, so I began doing my own research.”

With guidance and inspiration from his mom, Neelima Mangal—a podcaster focused on women in technology and empowerment—Neerav launched his own podcast three years ago. The first episode revolved around his love for LEGO.

From there, Neerav experimented with topics ranging from celebrations like Diwali, Christmas, and Canada Day before zeroing in on his passion for space and science.

His podcast features bite-sized episodes—just a few minutes long—designed to captivate young audiences. Packed with fun facts and exciting discoveries, each segment reflects Neerav’s meticulous approach to learning and storytelling.

“It helps me learn while I talk about it,” Neerav explained, noting his perfectionism often results in multiple takes before an episode goes live. “My hope is for more people who are curious, like me, to learn about space. Building that rocket was one of my favorite projects, and this podcast feels like an extension of that.”

With a bright future in space engineering on his radar, Neerav balances his cosmic curiosity with a variety of earthbound pursuits. He volunteers as a math teaching assistant, plays the alto saxophone and piano, and participates in several sports.

For Neerav, the podcast is more than a creative outlet—it’s a launchpad for a lifetime of discovery, fueled by a relentless curiosity about the universe
