Milton Celebrates Local Impact of Community Fund Grants!

The Town of Milton is celebrating a generous $7.3 million contribution from the Ontario Lottery and Gaming (OLG) Corporation for the 2024 fiscal year. Through the Municipal Contribution Agreement (MCA), these funds are directly reinvested into Milton's parks, community programs, and local organizations.

Mayor Gordon Krantz and OLG representatives gathered at Trudeau Park to spotlight recent upgrades made possible by a $100,000 grant. Enhancements include a new accessible playground, improved pathways, modern shelters, and additional seating — all shaped by community feedback.

“The Town of Milton is pleased to recognize another contribution from the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation,” said Mayor Krantz. “Trudeau Park is one of many examples showing how OLG proceeds continue to bring lasting benefits to our community.”

A portion of these contributions also powers local arts, sports, and cultural festivals through the Milton Community Fund and Small Grants Program — fostering creativity, inclusion, and community spirit.

“OLG is proud to be a vital part of the Town of Milton,” said Kathleen Devine, Senior Municipal Relations Manager. “Every dollar of profit is reinvested in Ontario — from local infrastructure to community events, OLG’s support builds stronger, more vibrant communities.”

Since opening Mohawk’s gaming facility in 1999, OLG has contributed nearly $150 million to Milton — funding long-term growth and enriching the local experience.
