A Milton driver has been charged by Halton police for speeding almost 45 km/h over the maximum limit while using a handheld device on the highway late on Saturday.
At approximately 9:30 p.m. on March 4th, 2023, police responded to a vehicle traveling at 143 km/h in a 100 km/h zone on a Milton highway. The vehicle was swerving and failed to stay within its lane, and upon closer observation, it was discovered that the driver was using a cell phone to text.
Officers recently tweeted that speeding and texting are a dangerous combination, emphasizing the severity of such behavior.
