The Milton Historical Society (MHS) is hosting a Halloween-themed talk as part of their Monthly Speaker Series.
Local historian and author John McDonald will give a presentation called "Spirits Among Us" on Thursday, October 17th at 7:30 p.m. The talk will cover the rise of horror, spiritualism, funeral and mourning customs, and some haunted places in Milton.
The event is free and takes place at the historic Waldie Blacksmith Shop at 16 James Street. After the presentation, guests can enjoy coffee, tea, and sweets.
If you like the event, McDonald will return on Thursday, November 21st at 7:30 p.m. for another presentation called "The Show Must Go On: A History of Entertainment, Art & Culture in Milton." It will look at the history of entertainment in Milton, including the public library, early films, vaudeville, and traveling shows.
