Milton man appointed as Chair of the Board for Cycling Canada.

A Milton resident is among three individuals recently elected to Cycling Canada’s Board of Directors. Mark Collins (Milton, ON), Louizandre Dauphin (Abbotsford, BC), and Denise Ramsden (Toronto, ON) were chosen from a pool of ten nominees by Cycling Canada’s Provincial and Territorial Sport Organizations during the Annual General Meeting in September. Each will serve a three-year term as Director-at-Large.

In addition to his role as Director-at-Large, Collins was re-elected as Chair of the Board, a position he has held since last year. His term as Chair will continue until the next Annual General Meeting in September 2025, following the tenure of former Chair Pierre Laflamme (Quebec, QC), who served from 2018 to 2023.

Cycling Canada also bid farewell to Curt Harnett (Toronto, ON), who stepped down from the Board after five years, contributing significantly to fundraising initiatives, including the launch of the Club 1882 program.

The Board’s ongoing members, Lara Check, Andrea Eby, Pierre Laflamme, and Kelly Murray, will continue to serve, while Forrest Riesco remains in his role as Athlete Representative through his leadership of the Cycling Canada Athletes’ Council.

The Cycling Canada Board is responsible for strategic guidance and governance, ensuring the organization’s mission and stability. Their responsibilities include providing direction to senior leadership, approving the CEO’s appointment, developing policies, and overseeing financial activities.
