A Milton man has been arrested by the Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS) in connection with an investigation into sexual assault and child abuse. On February 14th, Trevor Green, a 48-year-old man, was taken into custody and charged with several offences, including Sexual Assault, Sexual Interference, Invitation to Sexual Touching, Making Sexually Explicit Material Available to a Child, Possession of Child Pornography, and Luring a Child. Green, also known as 'Chance39' on social media, was held in custody pending a bail hearing.
According to investigators, the victim met the accused online and communicated with him via an app called Whisper. After several weeks of chatting, the victim and the accused met in person. The police suspect there may be other victims, and anyone with additional information is urged to contact the HRPS Child Abuse and Sexual Assault (CASA) Unit at 905-825-4777 ext. 8970. Tips can also be submitted anonymously to Crime Stoppers.
The HRPS thoroughly investigates all allegations of sexual assault, and charges are laid when appropriate. The police cannot provide any further details at this time, in keeping with their victim-centric approach to sexual assault investigations.
Sexual assault is defined as any sexual touching of another person without their consent, or where the sexual integrity of the victim is violated. It can range from unwanted touching to sexual assault involving penetration, and there is no statute of limitation for reporting it to the police.
