The Milton Public Library (MPL) will temporarily pause some online services to upgrade to a new system. The updated system will officially launch on Thursday, February 6th, offering exciting new tools and features to make using the library easier and more enjoyable.
New Features Coming Soon:
Text Notifications: Get updates on holds, due dates, and more.
Bookmarks: Save your favorite catalog searches for later.
Enhanced Reading History: View and sort past check-outs with cover images, authors, and dates.
Service Disruptions:From Monday, January 27th, to Wednesday, February 5th, some services will be unavailable, including:
Placing holds.
Using self-checkout machines.
Patrons can still borrow items at the Customer Service Desk, and other services like public computers, room bookings, and e-Resources will remain available.
Helpful Updates for Patrons:
Items due between January 22nd and February 5th will be extended to February 10th, with no late fees from February 6th to February 14th.
Library cards expiring between November 1st, 2024, and February 9th, 2025, will be automatically renewed until May 6th, 2025.
A new mobile app will launch on February 6th for easier access to accounts, catalogs, and personalized recommendations.
MPL encourages patrons to place holds and save their reading history before January 26th to make the transition smoother.
