Milton homeowners will see a 7.99% increase in their 2023 municipal tax bill, as approved at a recent council meeting.
The increase is to fund $63 million in capital projects and $184 million in the operating budget for programs and services for the growing community.
The budget includes investments in customer service, modernization of services, sustainability, asset management, and quality community assets.
The capital portion of the budget will be used for 132 projects, including new infrastructure and rehabilitation of existing infrastructure. The operating portion will be used for day-to-day operations such as fire and snow clearing, transit, and library services.
This increase will result in an estimated blended rate of 4.42% and an average increase of $31.09 per $100,000 of residential assessment for households.
The average residential home in Milton, assessed at $600,000, will pay approximately $4,407.30 in property taxes for 2023.
