After a community survey, organizers found that people wanted more activities after the parade. PRISM Halton, a local 2SLGBTQIA+ support group, is now expanding the event to include a post-parade Pride in the Park festival at the fairgrounds on July 20.

The festival will run from 3:00 to 8:30 p.m. and will feature live entertainment, a kids’ zone, a community market, food vendors, and a beer tent. The night will end with a ticketed 19+ drag show inside the fairgrounds hall.

The Pride Halton Parade, which started in 2023, will take place at 2:00 p.m. along downtown Main Street, with a vendor market in the starting area.

Organizer Tremills is thrilled with the event’s growth and hopes to secure more sponsors and grants to keep expanding. While some have suggested rotating the parade to different municipalities, she believes keeping it in Milton will help maintain its momentum.

Those interested in supporting the parade and festival – either financially or as a volunteer – can visit either prismhalton.com or pridehalton.com, or email chair@prismhalton.com.
