The Town of Milton invites youth and professional artists to take part in Colors of Change: Building a Safer Tomorrow, an interactive community art project to design and paint a large-scale mural for display at the Milton Sports Centre.
This inspiring project will unite local youth (Grades 9–12) with a professional artist to create a mural that embodies themes of belonging and visibility within the community. The completed mural will be unveiled in late March 2025.
Up to 15 youth participants will be selected to collaborate with a local artist and attend three workshops this fall and early winter to develop the mural’s design concept. No previous art experience is necessary, just a willingness to create!
Professional artists residing in the Greater Toronto and Hamilton area are also invited to apply. Applications will be reviewed based on previous work and experience in community-based art.
Applications for both youth and professional artists are open online until Friday, November 15th.
This project is made possible through the Town of Milton, the Milton Youth Task Force, and funding from the federal Building Safer Communities Fund.
