MULTIPLE LANES: Drivers in Milton warned of Highway 401 closures from April 13 to 21


West Corridor Constructors, the contractor for the Highway 401 expansion project, has issued a traffic disruption notice warning drivers about expected closures on Highway 401 in Milton. From April 13 to April 21, culvert construction activities will result in the closure of multiple lanes and on-ramps from Regional Road 25 to before James Snow Parkway on the eastbound side of the highway. The closures are expected to cause significant traffic delays.


The notice provides additional details, including specific closure dates and times:


• The Regional Road 25 northbound/southbound on-ramp to Highway 401 eastbound will be closed from April 14 at 8 p.m. to April 17 at 5 a.m.

• One lane on Highway 401 eastbound from Regional Road to before James Snow Parkway will be closed from April 13 at 11 p.m. to April 14 at 8 p.m.

• Four lanes on Highway 401 eastbound from Regional Road to before James Snow Parkway will be closed from April 14 at 8 p.m. to April 15 at 4 p.m.

• Three lanes on Highway 401 eastbound from Regional Road to before James Snow Parkway will be closed from April 15 at 4 p.m. to April 16 at 12 p.m.

• Two lanes on Highway 401 eastbound from Regional Road to before James Snow Parkway will be closed from April 16 at 12 p.m. to April 17 at 5 a.m.

• One lane on Highway 401 eastbound from Regional Road to before James Snow Parkway will be closed from April 17 at 5 a.m. to April 21 at 5 a.m.


Detours will be in place for the on-ramps from Regional Road 25 to Highway 401 eastbound. Northbound on-ramps will be detoured northbound on Regional Road 25, eastbound on James Snow Parkway, and then back onto Highway 401 eastbound. Southbound on-ramps will be detoured southbound on Regional Road 25, eastbound on Steeles Avenue, southbound on James Snow Parkway, and then back onto Highway 401 eastbound.


The notice concludes by apologizing for any inconvenience and advising motorists to plan alternate routes, drive according to conditions, and remain alert.
