New 19-storey tower development expected to get thumbs up from Milton council.

A proposal has been made by a developer to construct a 19-story residential tower in an industrial zone west of Milton Mall. The development would offer 266 residential units, as well as 3,000 sq.-ft. of office/retail space, at 155 Nipissing Rd. Furthermore, a three-level subterranean car park with 272 parking spaces and 68 electric vehicle spaces would be available.

Currently, the site is occupied by a two-story building with an automotive repair and collision center and is adjacent to the rail tracks. Outdoor amenities, totaling 1,139 sq.-m., would be located on the ground floor, the 16th level, and the rooftop, while another 590 sq.-m. of indoor amenity space would be available. The land falls within the Milton Mobility Hub, which is a strategic growth region centered around the Milton GO station that emphasizes high-density land use.

According to a report to be presented to council next week, "Town staff and our agency partners are satisfied that the application for the zoning by-law amendment as presented through this report conforms to the applicable Provincial, Regional and Town land use planning policies and regulations."
