Tuesday, December 10, marked a meaningful moment for Milton's Catholic community as St. Veronica Catholic Elementary School celebrated its official blessing and dedication ceremony.
The special event at the Kennedy Circle school was officiated by His Excellency, the Most Reverend Wayne Lobsinger, Auxiliary Bishop of the Diocese of Hamilton. Assisting him was Father Lawrence Parent, Pastor of St. Benedict Parish.
Speaking about the school’s namesake, Principal Angie Barden shared heartfelt words: “Inspired by the tender and courageous example of our Patron Saint, St. Veronica reminds us that even the smallest acts of love can create ripples that transform the world. Through her simple yet profound gesture of wiping the face of Jesus, she demonstrated the power of kindness, compassion, and courage—values at the heart of our faith and our school.”
The celebration brought together students, staff, trustees, and community leaders. Among the dignitaries were Halton Catholic District School Board Chair Marvin Duarte, Trustee Emma Murphy, Mayor Gord Krantz, Councillor Adil Khalqi, and MPP Zee Hamid.
The ceremony also featured musical performances, adding to the spirit of reverence and joy that marked the day.
