The Ontario New Democratic Party has chosen a familiar candidate to represent Milton in the upcoming provincial election.
Over the weekend of Jan. 25, Katherine Cirlincione was officially nominated as the NDP candidate for Milton. A Milton native, Cirlincione previously ran in the 2022 provincial election.
With election day set for Feb. 27, Cirlincione emphasized her commitment to advocating for young people who feel excluded by the current political system.
“We need decent full-time jobs and affordable housing to support our parents as they get older,” she said in a news release.
“Young people deserve schools that don’t leak, and their parents deserve a health care system with more doctors working in rooms, not hallways.”
In the 2024 Milton byelection, NDP candidate Edie Strachan placed third, trailing behind winning PC candidate Zee Hamid and Liberal candidate Galen Naidoo Harris.
