Prom Season is Approaching: Donate and Make a Difference!


As 2025 kicks off, the first high school semester is nearing its end, and prom season is just around the corner. To help students shine on their special day, the Halton District School Board (HDSB) is launching its annual Fashion Forward campaign.

Donations of clean, stylish formal wear are being accepted until Friday, January 24th. These contributions will support students by providing access to formal attire at no cost through Fashion Forward Open Houses, held from February to May. These events offer students the opportunity to select and try on formal wear in a welcoming, inclusive environment.

What Can You Donate?

HDSB is seeking:

  • Formal dresses and gowns

  • Suits, dress shirts, and ties

  • Shoes and accessories

Drop-Off Locations

Donations can be dropped off during school hours at the following locations:

Oakville

  • Garth Webb Secondary School (2820 West oak Trails Boulevard)

  • Sheridan Public School (1555 Lancaster Drive)

Burlington

  • Alton Village Public School (3290 Steeplechase Drive)

  • Lakeshore Public School (2243 Lakeshore Road)

  • M.M. Robinson High School (2425 Upper Middle Road)

Milton and Halton Hills

  • Gary Allan Learning Centre, Halton Hills (96 Guelph Street, Georgetown)

  • W.I. Dick Middle School (351 High side Drive, Milton)

  • Irma Coulson Public School (625 Suave Street, Milton)

Open House Schedule

Students can browse a wide selection of formal wear at these locations and dates:

  • W.I. Dick Middle School, Milton Monday, February 24th & Wednesday, February 26th | 3:30 PM – 8:00 PM351 High side Drive, Milton

  • Rolling Meadows Public School, Burlington Monday, March 31st & Wednesday, April 2nd | 3:30 PM – 8:00 PM1522 Mountain Grove, Burlington

  • W.I. Dick Middle School, Milton Wednesday, May 7th | 3:30 PM – 8:00 PM351 Highside Drive, Milton

Special Accommodations A private shopping experience will be available for gender-diverse students from 3:00 PM to 3:30 PM at all open house events.

Important Note for Students

Students attending the Open House must bring valid student identification.
