The provincial government has given the green light for the new St. Kateri Tekakwitha Catholic Secondary School in Milton. As part of Ontario's initiative to enhance and construct local schools, the Halton Catholic District School Board has been granted a tender award of $67M, including an extra $13.5 million in funds.
MPP for Milton, Parm Gill, expressed delight at the news, saying, "The funding for the St. Kateri Tekakwitha Catholic Secondary School is great news for our community. I am most proud of our government for investing in new state-of-the-art equipment for the children and teachers. This investment will ensure families and students have access to a quality learning environment now and in the years ahead."
The school will be able to accommodate 1,611 students upon completion. This investment is part of the province's $14 billion plan to support school construction, repair, and renewal over ten years.
Marvin Duarte, Chair of the Halton Catholic School Board, also expressed his joy at the additional funding, saying, "Additional funding for the construction of St. Kateri Tekakwitha Catholic Secondary School is wonderful news for the students, staff, and families in this growing school community in Milton."
