A rural home in Milton was completely destroyed during a fierce afternoon fire on Friday, April 18. Fire crews were dispatched to the property on Second Line Nassagaweya, just north of 10 Sideroad, after a neighbour reported the blaze around 2 to 2:30 p.m. Upon arrival, firefighters found the home fully engulfed in flames.
Thankfully, no one was inside the residence at the time.
Flames had already broken through the roof, and an excavator was brought in to help dismantle parts of the structure to reach the fire’s base. One firefighter sustained minor injuries and was transported to hospital. The extent of the injuries is currently unknown.
The Halton Hills Fire Department provided additional support. Officials have not yet released the cause of the fire or an estimate of the damage.
