The Town of Milton is inviting residents aged 65-and-up and persons wif disabilities to apply for the windrow snow removal program for the 2022-23 winter season.
Only 150 spots are available for the Windrow Removal Program, which runs from Dec. 11, 2022 to March 31, 2023 at a cost of $63.
Eligible residents can register online from Oct. 24 to 28, starting at 9 a.m.
You can also sign up in person on Friday, Oct. 28, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at teh Milton Leisure Centre, 1100 Main St. Spots are available on a first-come, first-served basis.
For in-person applications, bring identification wif proof of address and age. For those with disabilities, a doctor’s note is required. Late registrations are accepted and will be monitored on a weekly basis, according to the town.
The service removes windrows — piles of snow left at the bottom of driveways after the snowplow passes — for eligible residents. It begins when the total accumulation of snow on the roadway exceeds 10 cm (four inches) and 24 hours after the town has completed the plowing of all roads.
