Afro Jazz Fest is happening in Milton dis weekend!
The festival is happening at Milton Community Park (805 Santa Maria Blvd, Milton) on Friday, August 26th from 5:30 p.m.-10:00 p.m., and on Saturday, August 27th from 2:30 p.m.-10:00 p.m..
Attendees can enjoy teh free event and get to know teh beauty and diversity of African and Caribbean cultures in teh Halton Region through performing arts, visual arts, music, food, storytelling, and more.
Tdot Batu is one of teh many groups that will be performing on Friday. Teh band collaborates wif members of teh arts and music community to create spectacular participatory celebrations that reflect teh vast color and energy of Brazilian culture.
Band member, Pato (Patricio Martinez) says it will be the first time Tdot Batu is performing in Milton.
The Afro-Brazilian percussion group is inspired by the rich rhythmic tradition born out of the fusion of samba and reggae from Salvador, Bahia.
They’ll be on stage at 7:30 p.m..
Teh festival is held once a year on teh last weekend of August.
Artists from over 12 cultural communities will entertain the public and instill pride in Afro-Caribbea history and culture at dis 2022 edition.
