Teen and Man Facing Multiple Charges Following Police Chase in Milton Plaza


People visiting a plaza near McDonald’s on Santa Maria Boulevard in Milton got an unexpected surprise on Sunday morning (Dec. 1) around 10:30 a.m.

Halton police responded to a call about a possible impaired driver and found two males reclining or sleeping in a vehicle. When officers tried to talk to them, they jumped out of the car and ran.

The suspects were caught a short distance away. After searching the car, police found stolen IDs, debit cards, break-in tools, and a key reprogramming device commonly used in car thefts.

Charges

A 15-year-old from Montreal has been charged with:

  • Obstructing a police officer

  • Possessing stolen ID

  • Having stolen property under $5,000

  • Possessing break-in tools

  • Possessing a device for car theft

  • Breaking bail conditions

  • Possessing cannabis as a minor

  • Driving with cannabis easily accessible

  • Driving without a license

A 28-year-old man from Peterborough has been charged with:

  • Possessing break-in tools

  • Possessing a device for theft

The charges have yet to be proven in court.
