The Downtown Milton Business Improvement Area is seeking a new representative to represent the group.
A spokesperson for the BIA stated that the organization needs a new executive director who will "live and breathe the spirit of our community every single day."
"Our neighbourhood is devoted, and our businesspeople are accustomed to working hard. We're looking for a qualified, vivacious leader who can champion the interests of our small business community. Someone we can count on to support and fight for our beloved companies.
"Our BIA is seeking an executive director who embodies and can convey Milton's essence. Someone who can inspire devoted support for our small businesses and who is proud of our diversity.
The following executive director will directly influence Milton's future. Together with the volunteer Board of Management, they will develop programming that inspires proprietors, energizes the neighbourhood, and entices tourists.
The duties and responsibilities of the position include:
Work together with the Board of Management to implement a number of strategic and tactical initiatives in order to realize the BIA's vision.
We must evaluate the progress we have made toward achieving our objectives and change our strategies as necessary to be successful.
strengthen community partnerships by involving a variety of community organizations.
Program, communications, events, etc. for the BIA are planned and overseen in execution.
Manage the BIA office and inspire the team.
Deliver communications in a clear and consistent manner to our members, partners, stakeholders, council, and the media.
Aid in maintaining the enviable appearance of our downtown all through the year.
Be our BIA's spokesperson in the media and with our stakeholders.
The ideal applicant, according to the job description, will possess exceptional communication skills, creativity, and innovative thinking.
Post-secondary education or a specialized certification are the requirements and qualifications.
Business, community, and economic development backgrounds are preferred.
Prior management experience and familiarity with the BIA model are advantages.
Experience in project management is advantageous.
Experience in prior event planning is a plus.
Understanding the fundamentals of social media marketing and management is helpful.
It pays between $68,000 and $72,000.
