The OPP expressed gratitude to witnesses who reported an "erratic driver" on Highway 401 in Milton, leading to criminal charges against a 29-year-old Shelburne man for impaired driving, excess blood alcohol, and other offenses. Witnesses spotted the driver's erratic behavior near Guelph Line on the evening of April 8. As a result, the man's driver's license has been suspended for 90 days, and his Civic will be impounded for seven days. Although the incident triggered anger and outrage on social media, it also received praise for concerned citizens who reported it and police officers who made the arrest. "@kwitmeyer tweeted, 'We called regarding a physically abusive and erratic driver on the QEW WB yesterday (April 8) that resulted in a collision. Hope the outcome was the same and the driver was reprimanded. Very scary.'"
