Copper wire continues to be a prime target for thieves in the Milton area, with another theft reported earlier this week.
According to Halton police media relations officer Jeff Dillon, the latest incident occurred overnight between February 10 and 11 on Fifth Line Nassagaweya, near Highway 7, close to the Milton-Halton Hills border. Unknown suspects stole approximately 50 meters of Bell copper wire, valued at over $5,000.
Copper wire theft is an ongoing issue due to its high resale value in scrap metal markets. These thefts not only cause financial losses but also disrupt communications and infrastructure services in affected areas.
As of now, police have not released any suspect descriptions, and the investigation remains ongoing.
