Milton District High School is facing a troubling trend of vandalism, with portables at the Williams Avenue school targeted three times in December alone. This past weekend saw the most severe damage yet, leaving the community concerned and frustrated.
According to Halton Police media relations officer Ryan Anderson, the latest incident occurred sometime between Friday night (Dec. 13) and Saturday morning. Unknown suspect(s) smashed a window to break into a portable classroom, causing extensive damage:
Laptops destroyed
A desk thrown halfway out a window
Two Christmas trees snapped in half
Chairs lodged into walls
Ceiling tiles broken
A fire extinguisher set off and sprayed around the room
A second portable also had its window smashed, but no further damage was reported.
Police have not yet identified any suspects, and the investigation is ongoing.
